Over 40,000 Cheap Air Tickets to Be Sold at VITM 2018

Visitors are able to enjoy more than 40,000 cheap air tickets and over 15,000 discounted tours at Viet Nam International Travel Mart (VITM) scheduled from March 29th to April 1st in Ha Noi.

In his speech at the press conference on March 13th, Mr. Vu The Binh, Deputy Head of the Viet Nam Tourism Association, said that so far 21 countries and territories, 45 provinces and cities and 679 companies have registered their participation in this year’s fair.

VITM 2018, themed “Online tourism - Viet Nam moves towards Industry 4.0”, aims to assist enterprises to approach and grasp business opportunities in the digital era.

Accordingly, the Vietnam Tourism Association will coordinate with Viet Nam E-commerce Association to arrange a kiosk for online tourism to provide technological products and a seminar on online tourism with about 1,000 participants.

In addition, VITM 2018 will include other prominent events such as: a ceremony honoring outstanding individuals and enterprises of the Viet Nam Tourism Association, and introducing tourism of Phu Yen, Thua Thien - Hue, Da Nang and Quang Nam, Viet Nam - Lao Tour Caravan and National Tourism Year 2018.

Hanoi Launches Interactive Tourism Website

Hanoi’s downtown district of Hoan Kiem on May 20 launched its tourism website at different addresses of , , and , aiming to promote its tourism potential and attract more tourists to the locality.

Major features of the website include finding tourist destinations, services and trade centres of Hoan Kiem district. Information is shown in the form of Google Map or lists.

Visitors can explore famous places of the district through 360-degree panoramic images, and book hotel rooms and tours as well as buying goods online.

The mobile application, compatible for smart phones using iOs, Android, Windows Phone and Web Brower platforms, allows interacts and like-real experience of landscapes, historical relic sites, tourist destinations and other tourism and trade services.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Chairman of the Hoan Kiem district People’s Committee Duong Duc Tuan said that the building of the website is hoped to facilitate the district’s tourism with a close connection with Vietnam tourism, aiming to build a smart urban and tourism management model.

At the ceremony, the district also introduced the upgrade of the district’s portal, along with websites of wards and schools basing in the district.

Hoan Kiem district is home to many tangible and intangible cultural heritage sites with close relations with the history of Thang Long-Hanoi. Major tourism attractions of the district include Hoan Kiem Lake, the Old Quarter, night market, and food and pedestrian streets.

Vietjet Offers a Million Promotional Tickets

The low-cost carrier Vietjet will offer 1 million super-promotional tickets on their website, with prices starting from just VND0 during the golden hours from 12:00 to 14:00 on May 23-25.

The promotional fares will be applied on all domestic air routes with a travel period from August 20 to December 31. The tickets will be available to purchase during the golden hours from 12:00 to 14:00 on (also compatible with smartphones at or at (just click the “Booking” tab).

Payment can be easily made with Visa/ MasterCard/ AMEX/ JCB/ KCP/ or any ATM card issued by 34 Vietnamese banks which provide internet banking.

Modelling itself as a “Consumer Airline”, Vietjet is continuously opening new routes, adding more aircraft to its fleet, investing in modern technology, and offering more added-on products and services to serve all of the demands of customers.

Vietjet is loved by many as a pioneer of a number of promotional and entertainment programs, especially during festive occasions.

Hanoi to Host 16th Meeting of Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia

Hanoi will host the 16th annual meeting of the Council for Promoting Tourism in Asia (CPTA) between September 5 and 10. Participants of the event are representatives from CPTA member cities, including Tokyo (Japan), Bangkok (Thailand), Delhi (India), Jakarta (Indonesia), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Metropolitan Manila (the Philippines), Seoul (the Republic of Korea), Taipei (Taiwan – China), and Tomsk (Russia).

The meeting is set to review cooperative activities implemented during the past years and design plans to carry out new projects. 

Participant will define responsibilities of state tourism management agencies and municipal governments, as well as tourism agencies and businesses in developing tourism in CPTA member cities. 

During the meeting, CPTA member cities will seek measures to lure more visitors to Asia through cooperative projects, programmes and campaigns. 

The meeting will also focus on strengthening cooperation between member cities as well as between tourism promotion agencies and businesses. 

On the sidelines of the event, the host city plans to hold a tourism promotion conference to help connect CPTA member cities with local firms. The sidelines activities also include an exposition, and tours for participating delegates around tourist destinations in Hanoi.

Hanoi Expands Pedestrian Areas in Old Quarter

Six more streets in Hanoi’s Old Quarter including Hang Buom, Hang Giay, Luong Ngoc Quyen, Ma May, Dao Duy Tu, and Ta Hien have been pedestrianised every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 6pm to 11pm.

Previously, the capital city had banned vehicles from driving on three streets namely Hang Dao, Hang Duong and Dong Xuan from 6pm to 11pm during the weekend.

Lanterns will be hung on these pedestrian streets and more traffic lights will be added to relic sites on Ma May street, including temples and ancient houses.

The Old Quarter is famous for serving many of Hanoi’s most famous traditional dishes such as Bun Thang (Rice vermicelli soup served with shredded chicken, fried egg strands, meat pie and mushroom), La Vong grilled fish, Pho (noodle soup served with beef or chicken) and Bun cha (rice noodle served with grilled pork).
